This is a barn find! I bought it from the widow and it was sitting in his garage/workshop on jack stands. He had purchased it in Hawaii and it had been sitting for twenty years. I drove it home, which was a distance of about 70 miles. It has been sitting in a storage facility under my watch for about six years. I am sadly selling this vehicle as I have decided to purchase a beach home, and this will help pay for it. In order to drive it home, I had to install a new exhaust system. The tires are Michelin, and have good tread, but are very old. The wheels have been powder coated. There is a new Vredstein tire on the spare wheel, which is mounted on a wheel which is not the correct spare for the Sprint Speciale. The floors underneath are solid. There is some filler in some of the lower panels. In addition there is a small spot of rust in the passenger side door corner. This is not a show car in its present condition. The paint is old and has been touched up in many spots. The great thing about this car is that it could be driven as is, and all the difficult to find components on this car are present. The interior is original, and is in extremely nice condition for its age. The vehicle shows mileage of around 58,431 which I believe is original for the car. I did a compression check on the engine a while ago and the results are as follows:1-148, 2-157, 3-152, 4-150. These are great results. This car has a five speed transmission and it shifts well, no noises, and no worn syncros. The clutch is also great! The brakes work well. All the lights, gauges are perfect, even the low gas light works. The interior lamps work. The wipers work and have unfortunately scratched the front windshield on the sides. I have not inquired with a glass specialist to determine if they can be polished out. This is a car that should be serviced prior to a long drive. As I mentioned it has not been driven for any distance in a long time. The car starts and idles well, revs nicely, yet probably has a carburetor issue, as it stalls slightly upon acceleration. It does have dual Weber carbs. It also has the rare air box for the Webers. Some of the chrome was redone by the previous owner, but the rear bumper and front bumper corners definitely need redone. This is a very special car! Both front seats are fully electric with adjustable side bolsters & heaters. Everything works. ENGINE & DRIVETRAIN The M3 starts, runs, drives & shifts gears as it should. Correct 10w60 Castrol or Redline synthetic oil changed every year regardless of mileage. The clutch shows no signs of wear and there are no leaks anywhere under the car. There have been no modifications to the engine or drivetrain besides a K&N induction filter, (specific for the car) and an aftermarket Megan racing rear muffler section, (for increased sound and weight saving over the standard item). CHASSIS The front brake discs were replaced May 2013 with OEM ZCP items and the pads were replaced with Hawk racing up front & OEM rear. Tein springs all round lower the car -50mm, (original OEM springs come with the car). OEM shocks. Adjustible rear camber arms. BODY 9/10 Very clean, no dents, rust or scratches. some typical chips on lower front valance. Black dipped OEM kidney grilles, front bumper corner reflectors deleted & flushed. OEM ZCP staggered BBS 19' wheels, (light kerb rash on left rear, Very light on right rear, both front wheels perfect). Continental Extreme contact tires. Police Chief: Shot Was Fired in Officer&#39;s <b>Car</b> Before Death of Michael <b>...</b> Posted: 14 Aug 2014 08:22 AM PDT Ferguson, Mo., Police Chief Thomas Jackson confirmed on Hannity that a shot was fired inside a police officer's vehicle during a struggle that ultimately resulted in the death of an unarmed black teenager. He could not say whether there are witnesses who will confirm the shot going off in the car or that the struggle occurred. Hannity asked whether, as some witnesses have stated, as many as 10 shots were fired by the officer. "It's possible that that many shots were fired," said Jackson. He said that a true picture of the incident will emerge once all of the witnesses are interviewed. The St. Louis County police are now handling the investigation. Jackson said authorities will not publicly identify the officer out of safety concerns. He noted that another officer was wrongly named as the one involved and that officer quickly received death threats and his Facebook page was hacked. Jackson said "a lot of outside agitators" are responsible for the violent protests that have happened in recent days, but credited community leaders in Ferguson for emphasizing the need for peaceful demonstrations. After nightfall, the situation deteriorated, with police ordering demonstrators to go home before using smoke bombs and later tear gas. There were no immediate reports of injuries. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that police inched forward to disperse the main body of protesters into small groups pushed down side streets. The paper reported that some people were unable to get to their homes.  Earlier in the evening, two reporters were arrested and briefly held after police officers attempted to clear a McDonald's restaurant where they were working. Wesley Lowery of The Washington Post and Ryan Reilly of The Huffington Post said they were handcuffed and put into a police van. The Post reported that Lowery said he was slammed against a soda machine and plastic cuffs were put on his wrists. The reporters were subsequently released without any charges. Martin Baron, the Post's executive editor, issued a statement saying "there was absolutely no justification" for Lowery's arrest and said the organization was appalled by the officers' conduct. Ryan Grim, Washington, D.C., bureau chief for The Huffington Post, said in a statement that "compared to some others who have come into contact with the police department, they came out relatively unscathed, but that in no way excuses the false arrest or the militant aggression toward these journalists." The protests stemmed from Saturday's fatal shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown, whom police have said was shot after an officer encountered him and another man on the street. They say one of the men pushed the officer into his squad car, then physically assaulted him in the vehicle and struggled with the officer over the officer's weapon. At least one shot was fired inside the car. The struggle then spilled onto the street, where Brown was shot multiple times. In their initial news conference about the shooting, police didn't specify whether Brown was the person who scuffled with the officer in the car and have refused to clarify their account. Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson said Wednesday that the officer involved sustained swelling facial injuries.  Dorian Johnson, who says he was with Brown when the shooting happened, has told a much different story. He has told media outlets that the officer ordered them out of the street, then tried to open his door so close to the men that it "ricocheted" back, apparently upsetting the officer. Johnson says the officer grabbed his friend's neck, then tried to pull him into the car before brandishing his weapon and firing. He says Brown started to run and the officer pursued him, firing multiple times. Johnson and another witness both say Brown was on the street with his hands raised when the officer fired at him repeatedly. Some protesters Wednesday raised their arms above their heads as they faced the police. Others held signs asking for answers about Brown's death. The most popular chant has been, "Hands up! Don't shoot!" Brown's body remained on the street for hours -- a span Jackson deemed "uncomfortable" but justified, given that "you only get one chance at that crime scene" to process it correctly. Jackson said authorities also were concerned about gunfire they could hear in a nearby building. In the shooting's aftermath, the notorious hacking collective Anonymous has taken credit for burrowing into the city website and shutting it down for much of the day Monday. The group also released what it said were audio experts from St. Louis County dispatch on the day Brown was killed. Police declined to comment on the recordings Wednesday. Authorities have resisted calls to identify the officer who shot Brown, citing a fear of retribution, and have also said there is no police or security video of the confrontation.  Earlier Wednesday, Jackson told reporters earlier in the day that the St. Louis County investigation of the shooting could take weeks to complete. In the meantime, he said, his department welcomes Justice Department training on racial relations in the suburb, where two-thirds of the 21,000 residents are black while all but three of the police force's 53 officers are white.
